On April 12, the Chester High School Music Department competed in the State’s Music Sweepstakes in Class B.

The band, jazz band, choir, and swing choir competed and the scores, added with the solo and ensemble scores, landed the school in 6th place. Although the department was placed first in state last year, Chester this year moved from the smaller Class C, to the bigger and more competitive class B. The Department hopes to keep it improving and to follow the current trend to move upwards in class B.
