Girls Sixth At BDC Meet

Hannah Blechle Wins Pole Vault

The Chester girls’ track team finished sixth at the Black Diamond Conference meet on May 1.

Chester finished with 51 points.

Hannah Blechle took Chester’s only conference title, winning the pole vault at a height of 7 feet, 6 inches. Melody Colonel was fifth. Blechle also placed fifth in the 400.

Josie Kattenbraker took third in the high jump, long jump, 300 hurdles and 100 hurdles.

Lauren Soellner was fourth in the high jump and triple jump and seventh in the 100 and 200.

Lexus Iverson was sixth in the 300 hurdles.

Chester athletes competed in track meets April 29 at Pinckneyville.

In the boys’ meet, Aiden Jany won the 100-meter dash and Gage Gariss won the 110-meter hurdles.

In the girls’ meet, Josie Kattenbraker won the high jump and 100-meter hurdles.
