Swing Choir Sees “Miss Saigon”

Melody Colonel, Sting Reporter

On Sunday, April 28th, Mr. Colonel took 39 students to the Fabulous Fox Theater in St. Louis, Mo., to see the production of Miss Saigon.

Miss Saigon is a musical that takes place during the Vietnam War. Mr. Colonel’s Swing Choir class had gotten onto the topic of Miss Saigon in early October. When the students found out that it would be playing at the Fox, they begged Mr. Colonel to take them on a “field trip after hours.” The students left the high school at 4:15 to make the drive up to STL. Many students had never been to the Fox Theater before, so before the show they had the opportunity to explore the theater and take many pictures. The students arrived back at the high school around 11:30 Sunday night. The show, with an unexpected ending, left many students in tears, but overall, the students had a “Fabulous time!”
