The Chester Yellow Jackets baseball team advanced to the semi-finals of the Red Bud Regional before losing to Pinckneyville.

Chester opened regional play with a 12-11 win over Sparta.

Chester led 11-4 going into the seventh before Sparta tied the game with seven runs. A walk-off hit by Jaden Mott, who had three hits and four RBI’s, gave Chester the win. Chett Andrews had two hits and two RBIs, Michael Wingerter two hits and an RBI and Ethan Bert two hits. Owen Korando had a double and RBI and Nate Heffernan drove in two runs.

Bert picked up the win in relief.

Chester lost to Nashville in the semi-final, 11-1.

The Chester softball team ended its season with a 2-0 loss to Sparta.

Grace Stec and Kaylee James had Chester’s hits. Carlee Weir took the loss, despite surrendering only one earned run.
