The Chester Lady Yellowjackets took sixth in the Marissa-New Athens Labor Day Tournament after falling to Marissa 22-24, 21-16, 9-15 Friday.

Chester (3-3) opened the tournament by beating Steelevillle 21-14, 21-14 before losing to East St. Louis 11-21, 13-21. Chester fell to New Athens 15-21, 20-22.

The Lady Jackets opened their volleyball season with a 25-19, 25-17 win at Anna-Jonesboro.

Kendall Williams had  2 kills, 1 assist block, 1 ace, 15 assists, and 2 digs.

Reese Chandler had 4 kills.

Lauren Soellner had 1 assist and one block. 

Lauryn Vasquez had 2 kills, 1 assist block, 1 ace, 1 assist, and 1 dig.

Grace Stec had 3 kills, 1 assist block, 1 assist, and 2 digs.

Josie Kattenbraker had 5 kills, 1 solo block, 1 ace, 6 digs.

Ashtyn Jany had assist and 5 digs.  

Paige Vasquez had 3 digs.

Audrey Hopper had one kill and one dig.

The Sesser varsity was scrappy, but the Chester Varsity took it in three, 26-24, 20-25, 25-21.

The JV won 25-19, 25-11 and the freshmen 25-20, 25-19.
