Runners compete at New Athens, Columbia

The Chester cross country teams competed at the New Athens Invitational on Aug. 26.
In the boys’ race, Jordan Hughes finished 41st in a time of 19:33.
The Chester girls placed tenth. Avery Runge paced the Lady Jackets, placing 75th in a time of 28:53. Addie Blechle was 76th in a time of 28:52. Ryn Petrowske was 89th in 30:35, Amelia Shemonic 93rd in 31:13 and Melody Colonel 104th in 37:33.
Both teams competed in the Columbia Relays on Sept. 4.
