The Chester Yellow Jackets lost to Benton 40-39 in the consolation championship game of the Duster Thomas Hoops Classic.

Chester led 28-14 at alftime and 32-22 after three quarters, but could not withstand the second half comeback by the Rangers.

Ian Reith, an all-tournament selection, led the Yellow Jackets with  14 points. Jared Lamderos tallied nine points, and DeOndre Martin and Matt Korando scored eight points each.

Chester defeated Mounds Meridian 48-40 Dec. 28 in the consolation bracket semi-final.

Ian Reith led Chester with 21 points and 17 rebounds. DeOndre Martin scored nine points, Gavin Schroeder seven points and Jared Landeros five points.

Ian Reith scored 33 points and grabbed ten rebounds to lead the Jackets to a 53-50 win over Greenville in the consolation bracket Dec. 27. Jared Landeros scored 12 points, Matt Korando six and Gavin Schroeder two.

Chester opened play Dec. 26 and fell to seventh-seed Jerseyville 49-45.

DeOndre Martin led Chester with 24 points, six steals and four rebounds. Reith added 18 points with seven rebounds and two blocks  Nate Heffernan scored three points.
