The Chester Yellow Jackets posted a 54-32 road win over Waterloo Gibault Jan. 31.

Chester trailed 10-6 after one quarter, but buried Gibault 20-4 in the second quarter.

Jared Landeros and Ian Reith led Chester with 13 points each. DeOndre Martin scored nine points. Matt Korando and Jordan Hughes tallied seven points each and Chett Andrews scored five points.

The Jackets improved to 5-1 in the Black Diamond Conference with a 72-34 win over Zeigler-Royalton.

Chester lost to Cobden 50-34 Saturday in the Pinckneyville Showcase.

Chester (15-8) was led by Ian Reith’s 15 points. Jared Landeros scored six point before fouling out. Landeros was the only Chester player to go to the free throw line, sinking both of his attempts. Cobden was only whistled for five fouls while Chester had 16.

DeOndre Martin and Matt Korando each scored five points, and Jordan Hughes netted three points.
