Chester Registers 20th Win

The Chester Yellow Jackets won their 20th game of the season with a 57-45 win at Sparta on Feb. 22.
Posting its second straight road win, Chester was led by Ian Reith’s 18 points. DeOndre Martin and Jordan Hughes scored 13 points each. Chett Andrews tallied six points, Matt Korando four points and Jared Landeros three points.
The night before, Chester finished its Black Diamond Conference season with a 42-40 win at Sesser. Chester was 9-3 in the conference, taking second to Goreville. Sesser was third at 8-4.
Chester was led by Martin’s 22 points. Martin also won the game with a buzzer-beater.
Reith added ten points, Andrews five, Landeros three and Jordan Hughes two.
Chester (20-12) ended its season with a 49-38 loss to Du Quoin in the Murphysboro Regional on Monday. Martin scored 13 points and Reith ten points. Landeros netted seven points and Andrews six points.
