Chester Dispatches Trico, Zeigler

The Chester boys basketball team won an away game against Trico 61-46 on March 2.
From the start, the boys controlled the pace of the game, keeping the lead throughout. By the second half of the game they scored a total of 32 points, attaining a win.
Two boys ended up scoring in the double digits. Senior Jordan Hughes scored 20 points and junior Jared Landeros 17. Both Matt Korando and Nate Hefferman scored 7, followed by Eli Hughes and Trace Fricke, who scored 4 each. Gavin Schroeder scored 2.
The Chester Yellow Jackets basketball team went out last Saturday, February 27, beating Zeigler 70-49.
Chester said farewell to seniors Matt Korando, Jordan Hughes, Nate Heffernan, Eli Hughes, and Noah Colonel. Two seniors ended up in the double digits: Jordan Hughes, 15, and Nate Heffernan, 13. Junior Jared Landeros had the most points at 24. Making his first appearance on the court, Noah Colonel scored 7 points, followed by Gavin Schroeder 6, Korando 3, and Trace Fricke 2.
The team took the lead from the start and ended the first half with 38, only adding to it in the second half.
Chester had a dominant performance against Zeigler-Royalton, winning 65-48 on Feb. 24 at Zeigler.
Jared Landeros has an outstanding performance, scoring 33 points. He was followed by Jordan Hughes and Nate Hefferman with 10 each. Matt Korando and Jordan Merideth both scored 4. Eli Hughes and Trace Fricke netted 2 each.
After a slow start, the boys ramped it up in the second half, scoring a total of 40 points.
