Chester FFA had one student compete in the Public Speaking CDE at Marissa High School on March 17.
Blake Huffman placed fifth in the Extemporaneous portion of the contest. Students who compete in this portion of the event randomly draw agricultural-related topics, the night of, and are given a set amount of time to research and create their speech. They then present it to a team of judges and answer questions about their speeches.
Huffman’s topic was on setting up and operating a pet store.
