What a way to start a season! Chester had a 28-0 shutout win against Hamilton County on March 20.
Due to poor field conditions at Chester’s W.O. Smith Field, the game was played at Johnston City and Chester was the “home” team.
Aiden Jany scored two touchdowns and rushed for 43 yards. He rushed one yard for an offensive score, followed by a “Pick 6,” returned 41 yards for a defensive score. Junior Jordan Merideth had a 20-yard TD run, and Cooper Eggermeyer scored on a 37-yard TD pass from Dylan Kelkhoff. Kelkhoff completed five of nine passes for 56 yards. He also gained 68 yards on 11 rushes.
Lucas Rader also rushed for 48 yards.
The defense has a spectacular game, registering a safety, five turnovers, and 11 tackles for loss and not letting Hamilton County score.
