Chester Wins Delayed Game Over Sesser

After an unexpected weather warning, the Friday home game was moved to Monday, April 12. The Chester football team had an incredible win against Sesser, posting a 20-14 victory.

Three touchdowns were scored in the game.

In the first quarter, Jordan Merideth had a 46-yard run, followed by a Jared Landeros extra point kick. Before the second half, Cooper Eggermeyer scored on a 34-yard pass from Dylan Kelkhoff, which was followed again by Jared Landeros kick. After going back and forth, the winning touchdown was scored by Jordan Merideth, who had a 21-yard run. After the incredible run, Justin Clendenin had an interception which was the final nail in the coffin.
Kelkhoff injured his non-throwing hand in the second half, but the quarterback’s status is uncertain for the next game at Carmi-White County on April 16. After a 3-1 start, the Yellow Jackets look forward to Saturday’s game.
