The Chester Yellow Jackets pounded Elverado 17-3 on May 20.

Mason Werner led Chester with five fits, two RBIs and two stolen Bases. Matt James had four hits and four RBIs. Ethan Stumpe had two hits, two stolen bases and an RBI.

Koby Jany, Brendan Baughman, Jaden Mott and Kaden Freytag each had a hit and two RBIs. Camdyn Shemonic had a hit and Gage Hasemeyer drove in a run,

Chester improved to 3-10.

Chester won its second game with an 11-3 win over Dupo May 13.
Mott had three hits and drove in three runs. Freytag had two hits and two RBIs. Ryan Whitley had a hit and two RBIs. Nate Heffernan had a hit and an RBI. Daigen Hunter, Haydan Gendron and Cooper Eggemeyer each had a hit. Shemonic drove in a run. Mott picked up the win.

Chester lost to Trico 11-0 on May 17. Shemonic and Marcus Murphy had Chester’s hits.

Chester lost to East Alton-Wood River 7-1 on May 19 at GCS Ballpark.

Playing at the home of the Gateway Grizzlies, Chester only trailed 2-0 before the Oilers erupted for five runs in the sixth.

Jaden Mott started for Chester and held the Oilers to two runs and five hits through five innings, striking out six.

Freytag had a hit and an RBI. Ethan Stumpe and Eggemeyer had Chester’s other hits.
