Runners Race At Shooting Complex

Jacob+Handel+and+Blake+Farmer+%28orange+shirts+on+the+right%29+were+Chesters+top+two+finishers+at+the+meet+Sept.+14+at+the+World+Shooting+%26+Recreational+Complex.+Handel+and+Farmer+both+finished+in+the+top+20.

Jacob Handel and Blake Farmer (orange shirts on the right) were Chester’s top two finishers at the meet Sept. 14 at the World Shooting & Recreational Complex. Handel and Farmer both finished in the top 20.

The Chester High School cross country teams competed at a meet Sept. 14 at the World Shooting & Recreational Complex in Sparta.

In the boys’ race, Jacob Handel finished 12th, covering the 3-mile course in a time of 19:31.2. Blake Farmer finished 16th in 19:55.3, Blake Huffman 27th in 22:08.8 and Will Welge 46th in 32:52.6.

In the girls’ race, Maria Nickle led Chester. She ran the 3-mile cour4se in 25:40.7 to place 24th. Madi Kribs was 36th in 30:42.2 and Josalynn Anaya 42nd in 34:13.0.

The Chester boys took sixth at the Du Quoin Invitational. Handel was 3oth, followed by Farmer, 40th; Huffman, 46th; Welge, 55th; and  Hunter Decker, 61st.

Kribs placed 55th in the girls’ race.
