Lady Jackets Defeat Sparta

Chester went on the road Dec. 6 to pick up a conference win over Sparta, 57-55.
Kailyn Absher scored 11 first half points as Chester took an early lead, but when Absher got hurt and Alyssa Seymour picked up her third foul, Sparta came back and took a 31-30 halftime lead. Chester led 41-40 after three quarters. The Lady Jackets prevailed in the fourth quarter behind eight points from Rylie Conley. With the score tied 55-55 in the closing seconds, Seymour was fouled and made the two clutch free throws to secure the win.
Kailyn Absher led Chester with 15 points and Seymour netted ten. Conley and Jazzi Merideth scored eight points each. Maleia Absher tallied six points, Camrynn Howie five, Emma Diskey three and Hanna Colvis two.
