Chance Mott was medalist in Chester’s first three golf matches.

The Chester Yellow Jackets Boys’ Golf Team started their season 4-1 with wins over Gibault, Red Bud, Ziegler-Royalton, and Cobden.

On Aug. 16, The Chester Boys shot a team score of 165, beating Gibault (167) and losing to Steeleville (149). Jack Knop of Steeleville medaled with a score of 35, one under par (-1), while Chance Mott led the Jackets with a score of 38, two over par (+2). Other Varsity Chester scores as followed, Clayton Andrews 40 (+4), Gage Hasemeyer 42 (+6), Lucas Thompson 45 (+9), Aidan Blechle 46 (+10), and Noah Homan 47 (+11)

The Chester Boys traveled to North County CC in Red Bud on Aug. 17 where they shot a team score of 170, defeating Red Bud who scored a 175. Chance Mott medaled and led the Jackets with a round of 38 (+3) Other Varsity Chester scores as followed: Clayton Andrews 43 (+8), Gage Hasemeyer 43 (+8), Aidan Blechle 46 (+11), Noah Homan 51 (+16), and Lucas Thompson 53 (+18)

The Chester Boys took on Ziegler-Royalton and Cobden at home on Aug. 18. Chester shot a team score of 168. Chase Cole of ZRC medaled with a round of 39 (+3). Chance Mott and Gage Hasemeyer led the Jackets with scores of 41 (+5). Other Varsity Chester scores as followed: Clayton Andrews 42 (+6), Aidan Blechle 44 (+8), Lucas Thompson 45 (+9), and Noah Homan 47 (+11)

The Chester Boys played Saturday, August 20, at Union County Country Club in Anna-Jonesboro where they competed in the annual AJ Invitational.
