The Meaning Of The Color Yellow

Yellow is a vibrant color, full of life and spark. When thinking of the color yellow, you think of things like lemons, electricity, and the sun. However, like the sun, the color yellow is often dangerous and should be taken with caution. For example, when you think of a movie with a lot of yellow in it, what is the first thing you think of? For most people, it’s the Kill Bill series.

Released in 2003, Kill Bill is an action-crime film based around a former assassin known as “The Bride” who vows revenge on her jealous ex-lover, Bill, and anyone else who was a part of the death of her unborn child. The bride, instead of white, is covered in yellow throughout the entirety of the movie. Her ironic jumpsuit is yellow and black like a bee ready to sting. Everything from the lighting, the scenes, and the costumes, The Bride is always seen as a caution, a warning. While the director Quentin Tarantino never spoke about the significance of the color, it is safe to say it’s up to the interpretation of the viewer. He obviously wanted an eye-catching protagonist, which he succeeded in making.

In the end, yellow is a color that can be used in film to show caution and danger and other types of vibrant emotions.
