Chester beat Sparta for its first win of the season.

The Chester Yellow Jackets got their first win of the year at W.O. Smith Field, beating the Sparta Bulldogs 32-0.

Chester’s defense was locked in against Sparta, intercepting the quarterback 3 times and sacking him 3 times. Shane Bicket led the team in tackles with a total of 9. He also led the team in ttackles for loss with 3. The defense gave up 0 points in the shutout win.

On the other side of the ball, Zain Al-Jassim had a solid all-around game with 156 passing yards and 43 rushing yards. Most of Zain’s passes were to Devante Palacio, who had 8 receptions for 126 yards. Koby Jany led the team in rushing yards with 9 carries for 60 yards and 1 touchdown. Will Schuwerk followed right behind Koby with 11 carries for 53 yards and 3 touchdowns.

This phenomenal play led to a 32-0 Yellow Jackets win.

Chester travels to Wesclin for a conference game Friday. The Yellow Jackets will play their next game at home on Friday, September 30, against Carlyle, which will also be the Homecoming Game.
