On the opening kickoff Yellow Jackets Ethan Bert got his team on the board first returning it for a touchdown and they never looked backed. Sesser drove down the field taking five minutes off the clock, but failed to convert a fourth down attempt. Nick Meyer hit his next target Erik Cowell for 35 yards who then fumbled on the hit. The ball was recovered by Yellow Jackets Drake Bollman keeping the drive alive. Meyer then completed a pass to Bert to move the chains yet again. On the next play of the drive the Yellow Jackets fumbled again. This time it was recovered by the Red Devils. Chester’s defense shined holding the Red Devils to a four- and out forcing them to punt. Meyer threw a steller pass to Keith Kiner who hauled it in for a 40 yard reception. Meyer then ran for yet another first down. With under a minute left in the first quarter the Yellow Jackets struck again when Ian Reith caught a 25 yard touchdown pass from Meyer. Meyer then converted the 2-point conversion himself while hurdling a defender to reach the endzone. Sesser had the ball to start the second quarter. The Yellow Jackets defense held up yet again to give that offense the ball back with a little over ten minutes remaining in the first half. The Devils defense then held the Jackets offense to a four and out. The Jackets were back in business though when Bert recovered a fumble. Meyer then threw a 53-yard touchdown to pass to Keith Kiner extending the lead to 24-0. Just 15 seconds into the third quarter Sesser’s Peyton Bates pass was intercepted by Kiner. Meyer completed a pass to Bert for 41 yards, On his next pass Bates returned the favor by intercepting Meyer’s pass. Bates completed a pass to move the chains. Then was intercepted by the Yellow Jackets Ethan Bert. Meyer then completed a pass to Kiner and the Yellow Jackets were inside the redzone yet again. Meyer then finished off the drive by running the ball into endzone giving the Yellow Jackets a 30 point lead. The last eight minutes of the third quarter were filled with penalties. Sesser had the ball on the Chester seven-yard line and a fourth and seven when Bates pass was intercepted by Kiner. The Yellow Jackets started off the fourth strong. Meyer had a series of nice plays carrying the ball for a first-and-ten, Tristin Hobeck ran for another first-and-ten, and then Erik Cowell ran for a 4-yard touchdown, the first of his varsity career, to give the YellowJackets a 36-0 lead. Hobeck kicked the PAT to extend the lead to 37-0. The Red Devils failed to score in the final for minutes of the game.
