Chester Blanks Carmi 35-0

The Yellow Jackets football team won their 5th straight game on Friday night to improve to 5-2 on the season. Chester started strong and had a 12-0 lead after the first quarter. Keith Kiner caught a 18-yard touchdown pass from senior quarterback Nick Meyer to start the game off. The two-point conversion failed. Later in the first quarter senior Tristin Hobeck found the endzone on a two yard run giving the Yellow Jackets a 12-0 lead. In the second quarter the Yellow Jackets improved their lead to 20-0 on a two-yard touchdown run and a successful two-point conversion run by Ethan Rayburn. Ethen Eggemeyer ran 5 yards to pay dirt to start the scoring in the second half for the Yellow Jackets. Ian Reith then converted the 2-point conversion and they Jackets led 28-0. The Jackets last touchdown was scored by senior Drake Bollman. He ran the ball in from 1-yard out and the extra point attempt was successful. Seve Yellow Jackets contributed to the scoring on the offensive side of the ball. The defense play outstanding holding yet another opponent scoreless. Senior Eathan Thompson led the Yellow Jackets defense with seven solo tackles and two assists.

Rayburn led the Jackets in rushing with 115 yards on 10 attempts. Ethan Bert followed with 82 yards on nine attempts. Meyer added 49 yards and one touchdown on 11 attempts and Bollman had 41 yards rushing and one touchdown on 11 attempts. Hobeck contributed 26 yards and one touchdown on five attempts. Senior Keith Kiner led Chester in receiving with 45 yards and one touchdown on three receptions. Ian Reith had 11 yards on one reception.
