The Chester Yellow Jackets Boys Basketball Team played New Athens in a non-conference game on Tuesday, January 17th. Chester played a solid first half going into the locker room up by 4 points. A good 3rd quarter increased that lead to 9. Chester allowed New Athens to score 21 points in the 4th, shrinking the lead down to 4 and making it a nail biter for all the fans in attendance. They held onto this 4 point lead to the end of the game, winning 51-47.
Gavin Schroeder led the boys in scoring with 13 points, Trace Fricke followed with 12, Chance Mott with 7, Kolton Jany with 7, Lucas Thompson with 6, Devante Palacio with 4, and Evan Bland with 2.
The Chester boys get a 10-day break and don’t play again till January 27th @ home against Okawville.
