Retro Review: “Step Brothers” Still Funny

Paige Hamilton, Sting Reporter

I recently watched Step Brothers, and I have to say that it is the most hilarious movie I have watched in a long time. The feud between Brennan and Dale is “grab your stomach because it hurts so much from laughing” funny. From the very beginning of the movie, I knew I was in for a roller coaster of funny moments.
My favorite part of the entire movie was the fight the two step-brothers had over the drum set. My favorite line out of that fight is, “I witnessed with my eyes your testicles touching my drum set.” When that scene came onto the TV screen, I doubled over in laughter. There are so many pee-your-pants moments in this movie. Step Brothers is something anyone can sit and watch over and over again; it’s a movie to put on when people are needing a true laugh. I find it best to watch when I’ve had a ridiculously hard day and I need to unwind.
The plot alone may be a stupid kind of funny, but it’s one of the best I’ve watched with Will Ferrell in it, and his co-star John Reilly perfectly matches Will Ferrell’s acting style. The two of them are the perfect duo, and I love any movie I watch with both of them in it. Adam Scott is also hysterically funny in the movie. My favorite scene with him in it is when he forces his entire family to sing in the car on the way to his mother’s house.
All in all, the movie is a 10 out of 10 and I 100% recommend it.
