The Chester boys and girls track team swept team honors at the Chester Open Meet 2 on April 13.
The boys won with 101 points and the girls tallied 88.
For the boys, Lannin Caron won the pole vault and triple jump and took second in the long jump.
Shane Bicket won the shot put and discus. Gabe Steele won the 300-meter hurdles and high jump. Gabe Coffman won the 800 and took second in the high jump. Jacob Handel won the 400. Brayden Absher was first in the 110-meter hurdles and third in the discus.
Will Schuwerk was second in the 400 and third in the 100. Blake Farmer was second in the 800 and Ivan Hobbs second in the pole vault.
The boys also won the 4×800 relay.
For the girls, Camryn Howie won the 100 and took second in the 200. Paige Vasquez won the 100-meter hurdles and took seconds in the shot put and triple jump.
Also finishing first were Gianna Eggemeyer in the 200, Addie May in the 800, Maleia Absher in the 300-meter hurdles and Briley Miles in the discus.
Erin Liefer was second in the high jump and 100-meter hurdles.
Other seconds were Lillian Diskey in the 100 and Cailey Bainter in the high jump. Rylie Conley was third in the 800.
The girls also won the 4×100, 4×200 and 4×400 relays.
The boys and girls track went to Red Bud for a meet on April 4. Aubrey Coleman placed 1st in the 200 meters. Addy May placed first in the 1600 meters and the 3200 meters. Jazzi Merideth placed 1st in the 100 meter hurdles. The boys 4×1 placed 1st. Erin Liefer placed 1st in high jump. Shane Bicket placed 1st in shot put and discus.
Overall, the girls placed 3rd and the boys placed 2nd.
Chester High School hosted a track meet on March 29th and had some good competition.
Both the girls and boys team placed second overall. The girls had a total of 103 points and the boys had a total of 81.5 points.
Will Schuwerk placed 3rd in the 100 meters. Gianna Eggemeyer placed 3rd in the 200 meters. Jacob Handel placed second in the 400 meters. Gabe Coffman placed 2nd in the 800 meters. Adelyn May placed 3rd in the 1600 meters and 1st in the 2 mile. Jasmine Merideth placed 2nd in the 100 meter hurdles and 3rd in the 300 meter hurdles. Gabe Steele placed 3rd in the 300 meter hurdles. The girls 4×100 placed 3rd. Paige Vasquez placed 2nd in shot put and Shane Bicket placed 1st in shot put. Briley Miles placed 2nd in discus and Shane Bicket placed 2nd in discus. Erin Liefer placed 1st in high jump. In pole vault, Jazzi Merideth placed second and Jessie Stumpe placed 3rd. Lannin Caron placed 1st in pole vault while Garret Hopkins placed 2nd.
