Cheer squad presents on Freshman preview night

CHS held the first annual Freshman Preview Night on March 24. There were 44 groups signed up to be present at this event. The tables were set up and ready to start organizing and decorating by early afternoon that day. The doors were open at 5:45 pm and the presentation started at 6:30 pm. The students and families entered through The Sharp Cafeteria so they could pick up their schedule, then led to the bleachers behind the scorers table. Administration had a 20-25 minute presentation, then the rest of the time the families and students would mingle through the tables.
There was a combination of sports, clubs, and classes all signed up. The sports were Volleyball, Baseball, Softball, Cheer, Dance, Football, Track, Cross Country, and Basketball. The clubs were Spanish Club, Scholar Bowl, Tabletop Gaming, FFA, Summit Yearbook, Esports, The Sting, SADD, NHS, FCA, The Hive, Art Club, and Theater department. The classes were Spanish, English, Math, Social Studies, Science, Agriculture, Music, Business, Computers, and P.E Departments.
During the opening presentation, Mr. Bleche spoke to the students about what they will expect next year including showing how the yondr pouches will work. Then he introduced Mrs. Barton, who talked about the discipline and absences. Following Mrs. Barton, Mrs. Stegmann was introduced. She didn’t speak any during the prestanation by was still introduced. Then there was Mrs. Hawkins, who talked about the schedules and scholarships. Concluding the presentation was Mr. Bainter. He talked about the athletic rules and guidelines.
95 percent of the incoming freshmen came. They were offered chemistry experiments, Pi Balloons, 3D Printing, Wardrobe and Theater, ESports and Everything Spanish. Trophies were displayed showing success in Music, Golf, Football, Softball, X-Country, Volleyball, Baseball, Dance, Cheer, the Sting, Boys and Girls Track, and Boys and Girls Basketball. There was also a surprise visit by Stinger.
