Girls end season in Regional Final

Varsity Volleyball Advances to Regional Championship

The girls beat Red Bud in 2 sets on Monday night advancing to the second round of their regional. 25-23 and 25-20.

Varsity volleyball advanced to the Regional final on Tuesday afternoon. This news came after Pinckneyville was disqualified from the regional for playing over 35 games in a season. The Lady Yellow Jackets played Du Quoin Thursday, falling 25-20, 25-14. Chester ended its season 16-11.

 

Yellow Jackets Fall to 6-3 to End the Regular Season

The Yellow Jackets football team lost 36-14 last Friday night at Edwards County. The Jackets offense put up 14 points in the first half and were held scoreless in the second half. The defense on the other had gave up 36 points their most allowed since week 2 in the season. The Yellow Jackets however were 6-3. The is good enough to gain them a spot in the IHSA 2A playoffs on Saturday. They will travel to Latham on Saturday seeking to win their first playoff game since 2014.

Cross Country Ends Season

Chester’s cross country teams ended their seasons at the regional in Du Quoin.

for the boys, Trent Bierman finished the course in 18:19 and placed 36th. Jakob Cushman was 76th and Chris Schwier 88th.

For the girls, Addie Blechle ran 24L54 to place 47th. Shea Petrowske was 52nd, Amelia Schemonic 65th and Melody Colonel 74th.
