The Chester High School Class of ’23 celebrated the close of their high school careers by participating in Project Grad over the weekend.

Approximately 30 members of the senior class left Chester at 10:40 p.m. May 19 for a lock-in event at the Edge in Belleville. They returned about 5 a.m. the next morning.

The seniors enjoyed laser tag, go-carts, bumper cars and a wide variety of arcade games.

One senior, Paige Vasquez, left early but for a good cause. Her mother picked her up at 2 a.m. to go to Charleston where Vasquez competed in the finals of the shot put at the girls’ track meet. She finished tenth, an improvement of one spot from her preliminary results.
