Boys 2nd at home meet

Justin Clendenin took fifth in the long jump.

The Chester boys’ track team took second at a home meet March 26.

Chester scored 140 points to take second to Nashville’s 210 points. Seven teams competed.

Keith Kiner III won the long jump, 400 and triple jump.  Aiden Jany won the 100 and 200. Gage Garniss was second in the hurdles events. Chester also won the 400 and relay.

The girls finished fourth with 61 points. Nashville won with 211 followed by Red Bud with 112 and Murphysboro 87.

Josie Kattenbraker won the 300 hurdles and was second in the long jump.

The boys placed first at a home track meet on March 21.

The boys won the eight-team meet with 178 points. Steeleville was second with 89 points and Christopher was third with 88.

Keith Kiner III won the long jump, 400 and triple jump. Gage Garniss swept the hurdles events. Aiden Jany won the 100 and 200. Tyler Holm won the discus. Jacob Cowell won the pole vault. Chester also won the 400 and 1600 relays.

The girls finished third with 114 points. Sparta was first and Christopher second.

Josie Kattenbraker won the high jump, 100 hurdles and 300 hurdles.
